Language: German | Running time: approx. 75 minutes German premiere
Based on the book of the same title by TONI BENTLEY
Theatrical adaption by ISABELLE STOFFEL
“The Surrender” is the story about a woman’s unusual, eccentric sexual pilgrimage. Based on Toni Bentley’s daring and controversial memoir, the play tells the story of a ballerina who finds unexpected pleasure in the sexual landscape. Initiated by one of her lovers in the erotic experience of extreme submission, she discovers the joy of being on the other side of convention.
Following a twice-extended run of sold-out shows in Madrid’s alternative theater scene, “The Surrender” was presented in a production at the Spanish National Theater at the historic Teatro María Guerrero. It has since toured Spain and has had one-month seasons in Edinburgh (Fringe) and Buenos Aires. The company is currently preparing the German version, having its premiere in Kiel.
